Happy 100th Birthday Bruce Beach Golf Course!
Throughout the 2007season, there was an excellent attendance of golfers and the course played well. Finances had improved slightly despite higher grass cutting fees.
Highlights this past year included the Junior Golf Tournament where 36 golfers participated. A great many former junior golfers joined the adult volunteers to make this event a success.
The Second Annual “Billy Open” was held and was well organized by John Lichtenberg and his team. This event raised money to rebuild the roundhouse. John Lichtenberg, Brian Cass and Bruce Eaton led a great number of volunteers to rebuild the roundhouse at the top of the hill. It was wonderful to see a project come together with a strong sense of community.
The June Work Bee has been an annual event for many years and is focused on setting up the course with flags, mats, tee blocks, and cleaning up the greens. By having many volunteers it really lightens the load and enables us to achieve much more. This year it will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 9 am.
If you are available to help, it would be much appreciated.
We all can do our part to ensure this historic golf course is in good operating order by obtaining a membership and enjoying this Bruce Beach tradition.
