Bruce Beach News - Spring Update

As we approach the long weekend, I would like to share recent information that affects BBCA members as they return to the cottage.
There was only one break-in (that we know about) over the winter but there was some confusion about the cottage number on the part of the OPP when they tried to contact the owner. It would be very helpful for security reasons if every owner had their cottage number mounted in large numbers and in a prominent place on both the front (lakeside) and back of their cottage, deck or porch.… continue reading »

Submitted by beachcomber on December 15, 2007 - 1:07pm To: BBCA Members Last Sunday and Monday I spent time at the beach. The lake is frozen about 50 feet out, and the beach is covered by a blanket of clean, white snow. The sun was shining and footprints from various animals were observed along the beach. On Monday evening, Dec 10th I attended the "special" meeting about the beach held by Huron Kinloss Township Council The meeting was attended by about 50 citizens (mainly from Pt Clark and Lurgan Beach), and included Don Cass and myself from BBCA.… continue reading »

Attached to this message is a photo of the moon setting over the lake on October 25. The lake level has dropped almost another foot since Thanksgiving, and the beach is as wide as I have seen it in recent years. As of this weekend, the algae had disappeared-- at least at the north end between the 8th and 10th, but I did not have time to walk any further south.… continue reading »
