Important Bluewater Wind Farm Meetings

There is also some confusion concerning these meetings. Only one of these meetings is being conducted by the Township of Huron-Kinloss and that is the meeting of Monday, July 26th at the Township office at 7:00 pm to review the zoning bylaw and remove restrictions concerning the erection of wind turbines. So far, I've found Oppose Belwood Wind Farm (click on Health and Safety) and Wolf Island Residents for the Environment farms (review the different categories). Also, Wolfe Island is probably a really good comparable to our lovely beach/summer/recreation focus.

Wind energy is making a rapid contribution to Ontario's electricity supply, and greater benefits lie ahead. Comparatively, last year in the United States and the European Union the largest source of new electricity generation was wind. Tuesday, August 10, 2010 - 5:30pm - 8:00pm We received a letter in the mail from International Power (on Gov't of Ontario letterhead) on behalf of the Township of Huron-Kinloss.
The Bluewater Wind Project "includes 3387 hectares of land bounded by Concession 2 in the south, Lake Range Drive on the west, Concession 8, and Provincial Hwy. 21 on the east." It also extends from Hwy. 21 east past Bruce Road 7, north and east of Ripley.
The project is a " grouping of large scale wind turbines connected by a series of underground and overhead cables/transmission lines which will connect to Hydro One's energy distribution centre... near Bruce Power."… continue reading »
