Liz and I wanted to let you know that we are again singing with the Paisley Concert Choir in their upcoming spring concert “Anything Goes!”. Dates for this spring’s concert are May 27th, May 28th and May 29th. Concert locations and times are in the press release and on the website.

For its Spring concert, The Paisley Concert Choir (PCC) will present a high energy, very entertaining program appropriately titled Anything Goes! The program is a wonderful mix of rock, folk, jazz, spiritual and show tunes, including songs written in past centuries and some contemporary pieces. There truly is “something for everyone” to enjoy. Concerts, under the direction of Linda Finlay and accompanied by Jane Siegel, will take place Friday May 27th 7:30 pm in Hanover,Saturday May 28th 2 pm in Owen Sound and Sunday May 29th 7:30 pm in Paisley.
Highlights of the program include: Over the Sea to Skye, a gorgeous arrangement of the well-known Scottish Skye Boat Song; A Tribute to Queen- featuring the driving beat of Queen’s hit songs We Will Rock You, Another One Bites the Dust, Bohemian Rhapsody and We Are the Champions; the classic country song Sixteen Tons and a traditional spiritual Go Down Moses.
Rhapsody in Rhythm is an intricate arrangement of movie song and dance tunes made famous by George and Ira Gershwin- including Fascinating Rhythm and I Got Rhythm. Guaranteed to get your toes tapping! For jazz fans, the choir will perform a trio of popular songs by Cole Porter, includingJust One of Those Things.
Romantics will enjoy the classic love songs As Time Goes By, from the movie Casablanca and Drink to Me Only With Thine Eyes, as well as the more recent tune What I Did for Love from A Chorusline. Sweet Talkin’ Guy will take you back to the sixties with a fast-paced medley of music hits by the popular girl group The Chiffons.
Two contemporary pieces round out the program. Joseph M. Martin’s haunting song The Forest and Eric Whitacre’s ethereal Sleep.
