Introduction

My name is Larry Allison and I am running for election as a Councillor in the Township of Huron Kinloss.

My wife and I have had the privilege of maintaining a full-time residence in Blairs Grove for the past 16 years, although I have been here seasonally in Emmerton Beach my whole life. Our family of four grown children and grandchild have benefitted from the many attributes this beautiful area has to offer. I have served our community for a number of years on the South Bruce Grey Health Centre Board of Directors and on the Township’s former Nuclear Waste Community Advisory Committee. Currently I am a member of the Township’s Property Standards Committee and also participate on two advisory committees with the Electrical Safety Authority of Ontario.

I have been engaged in local government my whole working career having gained a wealth of experience working in senior level roles with the Town of Aurora, the Town of Innisfil and the Town of Saugeen Shores. I’m passionate about community development and hope to translate that experience to work collaboratively with my elected colleagues to affect meaningful, positive change here in Huron Kinloss. I believe the following message of support reflects the value that I would bring to the council table:

”I am pleased to submit this unsolicited endorsement of Larry Allison for his run for Council. Like Larry,
I was a long-term municipal employee. I found this experience of huge benefit when I was elected for
Council. Larry’s senior experience as Clerk and as CAO for several municipalities gives him a huge
benefit for knowing what is and isn’t possible at the Council level and it also gives him a solid base on
how to get things done. Having worked with Larry at both levels while on Aurora Council, I can say he
was exceptional in these positions which had a huge influence on the successes of these councils.
Huron-Kinloss would be well served with Larry on Council”

My commitment is to be an active, engaged member of Council who will provide an effective voice of the lakeshore resident while making informed decisions for the benefit of everyone. As a parent and third generation resident, the legacy we leave for our children and our next generation is important to me. Being part of the discussion, as a member of council, I hope to have the opportunity to do my part in shaping the collective future of Huron Kinloss from a fiscal, environmental, growth, cultural and community perspective. It would be an honour for me to serve our community and represent you as a member of Township Council.

If you would like to contact me you can find me on Facebook and LinkedIn, do so at cedarcroftcottage@gmail.com or at 519 395 4941. I look forward to hearing from you.
