I came to Lucknow from Manitoba in the 1973, married and raised my girls. Katrina lives in the Hamilton area and is a Nurse Practitioner, Margo lives in Guelph works as an Educational Assistant and Community Living care giver. I have a step son, Mark and Debbie live near Guelph. Total of 3 grandkids I love dearly.
I retired from the Royal Bank in 2000, and keep busy working part time at Bruce County Library, Kincardine, the work is fun and the patrons and staff are marvelous.
Through the years I have been a Member and Executive of the Lucknow Kinette club, currently I am Treasurer of Lucknow Lions. Our Lions are a small group and always looking for new Members. I am a member of South Kinloss Church. I have been associated with HAWK Theatre in Lucknow for many years, on stage and off. Currently I am President of the group and we welcome members to share their talents.
I am seeking re-election to help continue the good work Huron Kinloss is doing. We have worked through the challenges for rural, urban and Lakefront communities and continue to do so. Our infrastructure is sound, our water systems are in good condition, with the Ripley Standpipe completed and Lucknow Standpipe contracted we shall have water capacity to service future growth. Ripley's development and Lucknow's proposed growth we shall have quality housing for our growing communities.
I am seeking re-election to help continue the work Council has begun. The Bruce Beach drain is in progress, making Bruce Beach a safer place, the Lighthouse Museum is being restored and will become a stronger tourist attraction and our beaches are safe and clean. Natural Gas is no longer a wish,but a coming reality. I am proud to have been a member of the Council which made it so. Changes are happening in the way we recycle materials, as member of the Bruce Area Recycling Committee, I wish to work through the changes for our service provider. Through my 25+years on HK council I have worked with fellow members to strengthen bonds between recreation, fire and doctor recruitment boards. I ask for your support to enable me to continue the work that has been ongoing.
