Water samples taken at Southampton Beach, Port Elgin Beach and Station Park Beach (Kincardine) show results within acceptable levels according to Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit took samples on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 19/20, 2014. Based on these results, the beaches, which were posted as unsafe on August 14, 2014, are now deemed safe for bathing.
Although these latest sample results show acceptable levels the public is reminded that water conditions can change quickly. High winds and heavy rain are likely to have an adverse impact on water quality.
Beach information on our website is updated as conditions change at: http://www.publichealthgreybruce.on.ca/Water/Recreational/PublicBeaches/Current-Status-Listings.htm
