We were very lucky on Sunday to have survived the storm with no persons injured. Or at least none that I'm aware of. Unfortunately there was damage done to some cars and cottages. I think we all need to be more thoughtful for our own safety in the future. After seeing some trees that appeared to have been twisted off the stump and seeing huge trees that had been tossed around like twigs we need to understand the danger of standing by a window watching a severe storm like this.
And now the clean up. I have spoken to the Town and brush left at the side of the road will be picked up within the next few weeks. I have been unable to speak to Hugh Nicoll or Mitch Twolan as yet, but I have a call into them. I need to know if they will be picking up the trunks. As well I am hoping that the Town will come down to the Groves to remove the brush. I am putting this message out now as I know many of you are in the process of hiring loggers to come in and deal with your damage. As soon as I receive word from the Town re trunks and removal from the private roads I will let you know. In the meantime we can all get the brush to the roadside ready for pickup.
I would like to offer myself and my chain saw to help cleanup your mess. Anyone else wishing to help out let me know and I will coordinate the process.
