The Wingham Hospital Emergency Department will be temporarily closing over the coming weekend.
A release from the Listowel Wingham Hospital Alliance states that the ED in Wingham will be closing at 5 p.m. on May 27, and will re-open at 7 a.m. on May 28. The LWHA says the closure is “a last resort due to staffing shortages” and they deeply regret taking this action.
Ambulances will bypass the hospitals and travel to the nearest open ER. The closest emergency departments to Wingham include:
