We spoke with Terry O’Hagan of Ontario Hydro on Wednesday, Sept. 21. He explained Hydro is replacing the poles and wire between Concessions 8 to10. This job will take several weeks. At the beginning the cottagers will be notified by a telephone call, but after the job commences the expectation is that the hydro will be turned off week days except if weather does not permit. The telephone call came last night stating the hydro will be off on Tuesday, Sept. 27, Thursday, Sept.29 and Friday, Sept. 30th between 9am and 1pm. This call came to our cottage, perhaps it also went to cottager’s homes. If not, be aware, Hydro likely will be off if you visit during the week perhaps right into November.
The current lines were put in 1956 so the hydro service will be more efficient with the new, heavier lines.
