I was born and raised in Huron Kinloss and I currently live at 619 Statters Lake Ave. My wife Barb and I own and operate a livestock farm as well as a small livestock trucking business. We have 4 grown children and 4 beautiful grandchildren, whom which we are very proud of.

I am running for mayor because I feel I now have the experience needed to lead this municipality. I was elected to council in 2006 and in 2018 elected to Deputy Mayor. During my years on council, I have strived to be a strong, reliable, accountable but reasonable voice at the council table. I don’t take being on a municipal council lightly, and I hope to continue to be your voice at Huron Kinloss.

I first came to Huron-Kinloss in 1964 when my parents purchased a property from Dan Kennedy in what is now the Kennedy subdivision, South of Kincardine. Over the years, I would spend as much time at our property on Waterloo Street as I could. My husband, and I were able to make it our permanent home in 2014. A decision we have never regretted. Since then, I’ve had much more time and access to learn all that Huron-Kinloss has to offer.

Over those 58 years I have appreciated what it means to be part of this community whether as a seasonal or full-time resident. My husband and I spend much of our time giving back to the community through our various volunteer roles including the Food Bank, Low Income Housing, Lions Club, PRIDE and Kincardine Triathlon. We golf, curl and are members of the Kincardine Community Singers. All these activities have given us an opportunity to meet and get to know the many wonderful people in the area.

I am 65 years old and have lived in this community most of my life. I live at 1572 Bruce Road 1, just south of Highway 9. I am married to Brenda, and have one daughter. I grew up on our family farm on Statter's Lake Road, in the former Kinloss township. I went to school at Western University, became a Professional Engineer, and have practiced for over 40 years in the steel production and the energy sectors. I have served as Councillor on Huron-Kinloss Council since its inception in 1999.

I decided after many years to run for mayor as suggested by my late father.
My family has been apart of the community since 1977.
I would like to see the two communities cottagers and the farmers, come together as a whole.
To me it seems for many years there has been some animosity between the the two.
I would also appreciate if we could do this by helping each other out with the increase of crime in both areas. Possibly starting watch groups.
It would be nice to see more adorable housing and local jobs, for the youth in the community as a whole.
I have worked a variety of jobs in the area since  returning home a little over a decade ago, Pine River Cheese, Mary’s restaurant, The Ark organic garden and McDonalds.
I have done some volunteering with the Lucknow Agriculture Society and the Lucknow District and Horticulture Society. I did unfortunately have to leave both of these do to family needs.
