It is hardly news, but the scale of the manufacturing crisis in Canada continues to astound.
Between 2002 and 2013, manufacturing employment fell by 557,000 jobs, meaning that one in four (24 per cent) of the jobs that existed in 2013 have disappeared. As a share of all jobs, manufacturing fell to 9.8 per cent from 15.0 per cent over this period.
There has been no meaningful or sustained recovery from the Great Recession for the manufacturing sector. Total employment in 2013 was no greater than in the recession year of 2009.
John Lichtenberg’s report concerning the success of the Billy Open
The net donation to club from the Billy Open this year : $1750. We've probably put $13-15k into the course since starting this event . Wasn't - and isn't - the objective of the outing but certainly a nice byproduct.
Thanks to all the participants.

Please find attached information on the Emerald Ash Borer monitoring station that has been installed in McCosh Grove near the Clubhouse.
They're Back, Baby!
An endangered shorebird has begun nesting on Lake Huron beaches, and that’s a good sign for people concerned about good lake health.
The tiny Piping Plover has made its way back to Sauble Beach to nest for the eighth consecutive year. Before that, it was absent from Great Lakes shorelines in Ontario for 40 years. It’s very picky where it nests, but it’s no coincidence that it is preferring high quality beaches where beach and dune conservation efforts have taken place.
Dear Association Members, On behalf of your executive I am pleased to provide the results of the survey that was conducted in April. I would like to express our thanks to Chris Martyn and the Ipsos Reid team that designed the surveystructure, conducted the outreach and tabulated the results. We
