Huron Telecommunications (HuronTel) has joined the ever-expanding group of supporters dedicated to bringing a new CT scanner to the Wingham & District Hospital with a $75,000 pledge to the Caring Together campaign, the hospital foundation announced.
“The patients who will benefit from a CT scanner at the Wingham hospital are many of the same people we serve as customers in Huron and Bruce counties,” said Ryan McClinchey, HuronTel general manager, when presenting the donation. “It’s important for us to support our community wherever we can.”
HuronTel is a broadband service provider bringing fibre-optic telecommunications service to rural communities.
The Caring Together campaign aims to fully fund a new CT scanner by raising $3.6 million.
According to the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation, the digital imaging technology will enhance emergency care, make the facility more attractive to prospective physicians, and reduce travel for patients making care safer and faster.
