More than 100 nominations for this year’s Kincardine & District Chamber of Commerce Community Achievement Awards have been narrowed down to three finalists in 16 categories.
“It’s exciting to see the community support the Community Achievement Awards, with so many nominations and such positive comments about local businesses, people and not-for-profit groups,” said Tammy Schneider, executive director of the Kincardine Chamber of Commerce. “There are many nominees on the roster who have not been recognized in the past and have made significant contributions to the community. Across the board, all nominees humbly expressed their gratitude for their nominations.”
Nominations opened July 22 and closed Aug. 9 at 5 p.m. This year, a new category was introduced, sponsored by the Law Offices of Andrea Clarke, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award is presented to an individual, business, group or organization that has demonstrated leadership in diversity, equity and inclusion within our community.
Three nominees in each category completed and submitted a questionnaire regarding their nomination. The completed questionnaires are sent to chambers of commerce across the province for judging based solely on the information provided by the nominee.
Awards will be presented during a ticketed black-tie gala being held at Ainsdale Golf Course on Oct. 10.
“Thank you to the nominators and congratulations to all of the nominees,” Schneider added. Read More
