The Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation is hoping classic car buffs can help raise the $18 million needed to expand the Kincardine hospital and add an MRI machine.
“Not only will the foundation run its traditional and highly popular 50/50 draw, but we’ll have a one-time opportunity to double all donations made that day,” said Becky Fair, foundation president. “I challenge the community to donate $25,000, so we can turn that into $50,000 in one night!”
Donations made anytime on Aug. 2, including during Cruise Night, are being matched up to $25,000 by foundation volunteers.
Dennis Gage, host of My Classic Car, is stepping up as grand marshal of the Aug. 2 instalment of the event, which organizers anticipate drawing more than 600 cars.
As host of My Classic Car, a television show about classic automobiles, Gage known for his trademark handlebar moustache and the catchphrase, “Honour the timeless classics,” with which he ends every episode.
Gage’s inclusion is sponsored by Steve Plunkett, a well-known car collector, in support of the foundation.
“This will be a very special cruise night,” said Jack Nancekivell, foundation member and antique car owner. “It’s an opportunity to see some amazing vehicles, but also support our local hospital, and you get to see your donation doubled by our own foundation volunteers.”
Donations can be made in person at the foundation table located in front of the HuronTel building during the car show or online anytime on Aug. 2 at www.kincardinefoundation.ca.
Community members who would like more information about supporting the campaign can contact Mark Womack, capital campaign manager, by calling 519-396-3331 ext. 4335 or kfcapitalcampaign@outlook.com. Read More
