A full slate of activities is planned for Victoria Park in celebration of Hindu culture.
“What better way to meet your neighbours than to share in an exciting afternoon of great music and delicious food?” said Chandra Tripathi, founding member of Kincardine Multicultural Celebrations, in a news release announcing the event, which is being used as a platform to foster understanding, promote cultural exchange and build bridges of friendship within Kincardine’s diverse community.
As lead organizer of the third annual Hindu Culture Open House, Tripathi hopes this year’s event continues to cultivate pride and appreciation for Indo-Canadian residents in Huron, Grey and Bruce counties as in previous years when hundreds of attendees partook.
Hosted by the Swajan Samanvay Sanatan Centre, Municipality of Kincardine, Bruce County, Bruce Power and the Grey Bruce Local Immigration Partnership, the Aug. 17 event is free to attend and runs from 2:30 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Activities include a parade around Victoria Park, yoga and meditation sessions, interactive exhibits, traditional food, music and dancing. Read More
