Police seized drugs, property and cash totalling more than $18,000 in value during a traffic stop in Wingham. Around 8:20 p.m. on Feb. 22, police stopped a vehicle on Josephine Street, according to OPP. As a result of the traffic stop, police seized a spring-loaded knife, ammunition, and $2,790 in Canadian currency, as well as a quantity of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $13,480. According to police, the combined estimated value of the seized property is $1,760. A 38-year-old Wingham resident and 42-year-old Durham resident have been charged with trafficking cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine. Additionally, the Wingham resident is facing charges for possessing a weapon while under a prohibition order, possessing ammunition while under a prohibition order, and possessing an unauthorized weapon. Both are scheduled to appear in Goderich court on April 24.
