Title
National Legion Week events planned for Lucknow

National Legion Week, Sept. 15 to 21, is a time to highlight the contributions of legion branches across Canada, underscore the legion’s commitment to supporting our veterans, and welcome new members to our halls. This weeklong celebration stems from a tradition that some provincial commands and local branches have honoured since the 1980s.
At Branch 309, Lucknow, we will be holding a number of community events to highlight National Legion Week. Kicking off the week on Sept. 15, Sunday afternoon euchre returns at 1 p.m., after a summer hiatus. This popular event is open to all members of the community and players of all abilities.
On Wednesday, Sept. 18, join fellow darts players for a fun night of friendly competition, beginning at 8 p.m. The dart league begins on Oct. 2. The league welcomes players of all abilities and you don’t have to be a legion member to join.
On Thursday, Sept. 19, the Frontline Journeys travelling museum will be set up at Branch 309 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Frontline Journeys is owned and operated by Alexander Peroff, who has dedicated his career to making history accessible and engaging for all audiences. Featuring First and Second World War memorabilia, the museum brings history to life and ensures that the legacy of Canada’s contributions is preserved and celebrated for generations to come. We invite everyone to experience this unique opportunity to explore history hands-on.
On Friday, Sept. 20, weekly meat draws begin at 8 p.m. and karaoke with Stubby D is back, from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
To close out National Legion Week, we wish to invite all members of our community to an open house and volunteer appreciation event, from 1 to 4 p.m., with welcome and remarks at 1:30 p.m. Stop by to see our newly renovated kitchen, made possible by generous donations from the public, as well as support from the Township of Huron-Kinloss and NWMO. There will be food available, as well as a cash bar. This event is an opportunity for us to say thanks to all of you, our members and supporters, all who contribute in valuable ways to building a strong sense of connection and comradeship within our branch.
