A kitten was brought to baseball this morning, found by a family, perhaps an orphan from the storm, I didn't get the whole story from the mass of kids adoring her. Long story short, I took the kitten home,I couldn't leave it there, and agreed to look after it and try to find it a home. Could you please send a mass email asking if anyone wants a kitten or know anyone missing a kitten? We are here until Friday at noon. If no one claims her or is interested we will take her home to Toronto Humane Society. I presume she is a barn kitty, she is gorgeous, sweet and calm, not at all feral or even nervous, and follows the kids everywhere. We are totally smitten with this kitten but are not keeping her (I repeat), not keeping her.
This picture was taken last Monday morning by Heather Currie of 124, picture of the kids playing baseball at the cottage this morning. We agreed that the rays of sunshine are Bruce Beach cottagers who've passed, smiling down at the ongoing traditions.
Located on the south side of the Club House.
To entice some "northenders" there is a copy of Baseball for Dummies!!
Don't worry it's mostly pictures...
If you could pass this along to the masses it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike Buchanan
We are still looking for more volunteers for Junior Baseball. Summer is here and we have three weeks that still require a volunteer to help out. The weeks we need a volunteer are:
July 20 - 24th - NEXT WEEK
Aug 24 - 28th
Aug 31st - Sept 3rd
Please contact me at the phone numbers or emails listed below if you are able to help out.
The Little Book Library in Cameron Grove no longer has any children’s books(about ages 7-14). Apparently there has been more “taking” than “leaving”, which is a good sign that reading is taking place at Bruce Beach. If anyone along the beach has a few children’s books(for boys and girls) that their children or grandchildren no longer want, please deposit them in the Library as you head to town or attend Junior baseball games.
Bruce Beachers,
We are still looking for more volunteers for Junior Baseball. Summer is HERE and there are many weeks that still require a volunteer to help out.
The weeks we require volunteers are:
July 13 to 17
July 20 to 24
August 17 to 21
August 24 to 28
August 31 to Sept 3 (extra week this year)
As you can see we have quite a few weeks yet to cover. I have been contacted by folks who were not sure when they would be at the Beach for their holidays but if you can commit to helping out for a week that would be great.
Created, constructed and stocked by Bob Cunningham (109) and Barry McPherson(122), the FIRST Bruce Beach Library opens this weekend. Another “first” for the North! Will “Lower” or “Middle” Bruce Beach follow suit?
Modelled on the Little Free Library program found in many neighbourhoods in Canada and the United States (see, www.littlefreelibrary.org), this Library is located beside the tennis courts at Cameron Grove so that it is accessible to our Junior Baseball players and their fans.
We are still looking for more volunteers for Junior Baseball. Summer is fast approaching and there are many weeks that still require a volunteer to help out. Please contact me at the phone numbers or emails listed below.
First day is on Monday June 29th and we still need somebody for the first week.
After a couple of great weekends at Bruce Beach many will be trying to figure out how to spend an extra week at the cottage this summer.
What could be better then spending some extra time with your kids by volunteering to help with Junior Baseball.
The activity takes place from 9.30 am to 10.30 am Monday through Friday every week during July and August. The first day this year will be June 29th.
