Monday, February 23, 2015, 10:56 AM - Will ice levels on the Great Lakes reach record levels this winter? It's looking like we may have a shot.
Lake-dwellers have noticed the massive waterways are well into their annual ice up, more than 80 per cent frozen over on Saturday.
And that's actually around 10 points more ice coverage than the same day last year, when the maximum reached 92.5 per cent - just a stone's throw away from the all-time record of 94.7 per cent, from way back in 1979.

Marion Helen Dyer was born on March 8th, 1925 in Greenbank, Ontario, the youngest child of Carmen Ephriam Dyer and Maude McWaters. She joined her older siblings, in order, Jeanette, J. C., (as he was always known), and Clark, all of whom are now sadly gone. Her father became a minister of the new United Church of Canada in June of that same year, and had an important role in its formation.
We are at the deadline for changing/adding to listings in the 2015 Bruce Beach Year Book.

"Cheers for the New Year and another chance to get it right". The year is coming to a close with a very different start to the winter, high water, big winds, no snow and warm temperatures. The last day of 2014 is the first really cold day of the winter and the beginning of the ice formations along the shoreline.
