Spectators at the 26th annual Bruce Grey Holstein Show held Aug. 27 at the Walkerton fairgrounds watched as Glenn Barkey of Blackstock, placed 107 head of Holsteins exhibited by breeders of Bruce, Grey and Huron counties.
Grand Champion of the show was the senior three-year-old class winner, “Leachland Chief Krystal,” exhibited by Hodglynn Holsteins in Kincardine, with Reserve Champion Honours going to “Golden-Oaks Alexis-Red-ET”, the junior three-year-old class winner shown by Hodglynn Holsteins and Raymond J. Smygwaty of Kincardine.

The Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary held another very successful annual Wheelbarrow of Wine raffle with the tickets being totally sold out.
The draw was made on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. at the auxiliary gift shop with David Ellis, the chef at The Bruce, drawing the winning tickets.
The winner of the 28 bottles of wine, as well as the wheelbarrow donated by Country Depot, was Syl Veldman.

Live music begins at noon and runs throughout the day in Victoria Park in Kincardine. Celebrating its 33rd anniversary, the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band is sticking to tradition of thanking the community for many years of ongoing support. Admission is free and, in addition to the live music from 12 to 6 p.m., there will be a beer garden on site.

South Bruce OPP have made an arrest in a recent break-in and theft, but say they’re looking for additional suspects.
