Age 90, Passed away peacefully on October 20, 2015 with family present. Beloved husband of Jean for 62 years. Loving father of Harold (Heidi) Clark, Barbara (James) Winterberger. Steven (Isabelle) Clark and Carolyn (Robert) McHenry. Proud grandfather of Sarah Winterberger, Kelly Jackson, Chad Winterberger, Shannon McHenry, Logan McHenry, Addison Clark and Emma Clark. Great- Grandfather of Liam and Ella Jackson. Brother of Jean Auchterlonie. Born in Detroit on November 30, 1924 to James E. Sr. and Beatrice (Huff) Clark.

Jim graduated from Cass Tech in ‘43. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp. immediately following high school and was trained as a fighter pilot. After WWII he attended Lawrence Technological University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1951. Jim met his bride, Jean, through his cousin Nancy Huff Allen and was married in 1953. Jean and Jim moved to Flint, MI where Jim was employed by General Motors as a plant facilities engineer in 1965. Jim and Jean moved to Beverly Hills, MI. Jim was employed by the Phoenix Wire Cloth company for 40 years as a Sales Engineer retiring in 1990.

Jim was active in the Birmingham Optimist Club, the Senior Men’s Club of Birmingham and a longstanding member of the St. James Episcopal Church family. He enjoyed spending summers at the family cottage at Bruce Beach on Lake Huron in Ontario, Canada.

Funeral services will be held on November 27, 2015, 2:00 pm at St. James Episcopal Church in Birmingham, MI.
