With profound sadness we share the passing of Keith MacDonald, surrounded by his family, after a short but courageous fight with cancer.
Survived by the love of his life Barbara, children Cathy Bentley (Ross), Susie Murdoch (Stuart), Julie Davidson (Grant), David MacDonald (Heather), 11 grandchildren, and brothers Ross and John A MacDonald.
After graduating from UWO Medical School in 1960, Keith started his family practice in Streetsville in 1963, spanning 29 years. He served as President of Medical Staff for the Mississauga Hospital and 4 years on the Board of Governors. Keith was on the initial Steering Committee of the Credit Valley Hospital and a key leader from its concept to completion. He was founding Chief of Medical Staff and Vice President of Medical Affairs from 1983 -1991. Keith was very proud of the hospital and the community he served. In 1989 Keith received the Brydon Award from the OMA for outstanding service in the field of Medicine.
Keith was a Charter Member and Past Chairman of Cheshire Home, a Charter member of Erinoak, and advocated for Hospice of Peel. Keith received the Paul Harris Award in 1992 for outstanding contribution to his community.
Keith MacDonald left this world a better place because of his dedication to his patients, his community but mostly to his family. He led by example and held his values high, always challenging us to do the same. Sitting on Bruce Beach watching the sunset surrounded by family he’d look around and say “I 've got the world in the palm of my hand”
Please consider donating to Trillium Health Partners Foundation, to support The Credit Valley Hospital, or Wellspring London. A service will be held when restrictions allow.
