TROY — Robert J. Pugh, age 94, of Troy passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. He was born on February 5, 1922 in Mansfield to the late James V. and Georgia Pugh.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Marjorie L. Pugh; three children: Deborah (Ned) Sacks, Cyndy (Dennis) Burt and James (Kim) Pugh; he was Grandpa Bob to: Bradley J. Pugh, Katharine Redick, Julie Fellers, Gordon Burt, Morgan Burt and Davis Sacks; Great Grandpa Bob to: Emma, Addison and Mia; and one sister: Betty Berry;
Robert proudly served his county as a member of the US Army during WW II in artillery, serving in both the South Pacific and the Philippines. He continued his service as a member of the National Guard, where he achieved the rank of Major. After his tour of duty in the Army, Robert earned his business degree from The Ohio State University. Robert loved sailing anywhere from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico. His boats ranged from a 16' Hobie Cat to his 30' Sail Boat. Robert was a member of SAMI in Marco Island, FL and a member of the Auxiliary Coast Guard Rescue. He was President/Owner of R. J. P. Inc. and also a manufactures rep.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Baird Funeral Home in Troy.
