Year of Birth

Passed peacefully surrounded by love after overseeing one last impassioned round of her beloved Scrabble game played at her bedside by her 3 daughters.

Throughout her active life, Sally followed her heart of gold and brought her beautiful smile, tireless energy and infectious humour with her wherever she went.

Born in Geneva, Ohio, her life’s adventures saw her leading the way throughout high school and making memories in Geneva-On-The-Lake as she worked summers at the family business and danced the night away at the dance hall. She studied to become a nurse and worked in Miami, then Cleveland where she fell in love with a visiting Canadian doctor. She followed her heart to Canada where her family bloomed and she traded her nursing shoes for running shoes as she dashed around town ensuring her four children, (Grant Robinson, Sandi Robinson, Julie Jeffries and Tara Cotterill) had all the opportunities to follow their own hearts’ pursuits, selflessly supporting their every endeavour. When her life’s adventure found her single again at 50 and children were not underfoot anymore, she leapt back into the workforce full time and connected Londoners to vital services through her work at Information London, which started  as a paper based resource and finished years laters as a web based one. She learned computer skills before her daughters and taught them how to use one.

Not one to sit still, Sally filled her spare time playing bridge, Mah Jong and tennis with friends, going to the theatre, travelling lots, often to the USA to see Grant and her family back home. She had a special place in her heart for Bruce Beach, where she spent summers with her children and extended family. She volunteered for many London charities and committees. Despite her busy life, she always held her family first in her heart and when her five granddaughters (Robyn and Hailey Jeffries, Lauren, Dani and Leah Keating) came along she prioritized her time with them, supporting and nurturing their passions, filling their hearts and souls with her love and showing them how to become the strong, smart, resilient, kind and giving woman that she was.

She loved very much and was very much loved. She lives on in her children, grandchildren and in the hearts of her sons-in-laws Barry Butcher, Jeff Jeffries and Mark Cotterill, extended family in Ohio and Canada and her many friends.

Donations can be made to Life Enrichment at Post Inn Village through The Willow Foundation of Post Inn Village Long Term Care Home where she received exceptional care during her 5 years there.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
