Jeremy “Jerry” Taylor, age 93, passed away on June 18, 2021, in Rochester Hills, MI. Jerry was born July 20, 1927, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario in 1949 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. In 1951 he married Elaine McNichol at the Grace Church of the Hill in Toronto. The new couple moved to Detroit where they were employed and lived in Michigan (Royal Oak, Troy and Rochester Hills) for the rest of their adult lives. Jerry had a long career with Kelly Services where he worked for over 30 years. He was a dog lover who, in his later life, became a senior animal adopter, adopting 5 dogs and 1 cat who were all over 8 years old. Jerry loved music – especially musicals – and was an avid jazz fan and 40’s music aficionado. Sports were a big part of his life, and he loved to play golf and cheer on the Red Wings and the Wolverines. His beloved cottage was at Bruce Beach, Ontario, where he spent summers during his childhood and vacationed there every year. Jerry was also an amazing storyteller – he had an iron-clad memory and could recount many a tale from Windsor, Bruce Beach and beyond. Most of all, Jerry loved his family – they meant everything to him, and he felt every joy and every defeat as acutely as if they were his own. He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine and is survived by his children Joan (Dean) Rutila, Sue (Gary) Schultz, Jerry (Karen) Taylor and Kathy (John) Christy, grandchildren Beth and Kate Rutila, Adam and Anne Schultz, Jake, Tim and Max Taylor, and Dan, Nick and Katie Christy. He is also survived by his brother John Taylor and by many nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with a luncheon to follow.
