Dr. Benjamin Robertson Walker died peacefully on April 29, 2015 in Freeport Palliative Care, Kitchener, Ontario, at the age of 83.

Ben is survived by his wife of 60 years Marjorie Ann (nee Moffatt); his brother Michael; his daughters Cathie (Randy), Mary Jane, Wendy and Gail; ten grandchildren Rebecca (Jay), Gillian, Kelsey, Lindsay, Skylar (Amber), Ben, Devin, Blaine Jr. (a.k.a. B.J.), Sam and Eden; and one great-grandson Rylen.

Ben was born on October 23, 1931 in Toronto, Ontario, to Benjamin Robertson Walker and Helen Mary Reid. He graduated from University of Toronto medical school in 1955. Ben married his university sweetheart on June 4, 1955. After moving to Kapuskasing, where he assumed a busy medical practice, Ben came to love the North, his work and his patients as well as golf, bridge and hockey. His competitive spirit, love of bacon, salt and rum and sodies and affinity for shenanigans to ensure his victory at any game he played, were well-known by all.
