It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Chad James Winterberger on Saturday, November 23rd, 2019 in his 31st. year.

He was born in Royal Oak, Michigan and raised in Macomb, MI where he graduated from L’Anse Creuse High School North.  Always looking up to his father he went into the same field of HVAC where he used his talent for anything mechanical.

He was the life of the party and enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, hanging out with friends and spending time with his family.  He loved being on the water and getting out on his boat any chance he got.

His favorite place was his new found home on Sugar Island.  He moved there following his best friend Bryan Kloock, his first attempt at living up north was short lived however years later he moved back up and settled into his current home on the water.  The Island was an oasis for him and a community filled with the best of friends and many memorable times.

He will be remembered for his zest for life, his smile that was contagious and laughter that filled the room.  A friend that was always there when you needed anything and once you met him you would never forget.

He is survived by his parents Jim & Barb Winterberger of Macomb, MI; his sister Sarah Knapik and brother-in-law Eddie of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI; Grandmother Jean Clark of Bloomfield Hills, MI; Great Aunt & Uncle James and Barbara Goulding of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI; He was a beloved nephew to Carolyn & Bob McHenry, Harold and Heidi Clark and Steve and Izzy Clark; Cousin to Shannon & Logan McHenry, Kelly & Kirk Jackson, Emma and Addison Clark; and great-cousin to Liam & Ella Jackson. He is also survived by his dogs Thor, Diesel and Bo.

Family and Friends are invited to celebrate Chad’s life on Saturday November 30th, 2019 at two-thirty PM.  The celebration will be at St. James Episcopal Church, 355 W. Maple Rd. Birmingham, MI 48009.  Casual attire requested, cowboy books welcome!
