ALBERTA MUNRO

Alberta Grace Munro (née Wightman) passed away peacefully at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Kincardine on Dec. 21, 2024, at the age of 84.
Beloved wife of Vaughn Munro for over 55 years.
Fondly remembered by stepsons Michael and David, granddaughters Leila, Jena and their seven children, and by many other family members and friends.
Alberta will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul with a quick wit and beautiful smile. She loved to help others and was able to do this through her efforts as a member of many organizations. Alberta was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Hospital Auxiliary for more than 50 years, Pine River United Church and the United Church Women (UCW).
Alberta was also a very active Shriners lady. Vaughn and Alberta graciously opened their home to the Shriners after many parades and events. For 33 years they gathered together for backyard corn boils at their Lake Range home.
Sewing, baking and making crafts were a passion for Alberta. These items would be donated and sold at fund raisers for organizations she was involved with.
For 17 years, Vaughn and Alberta were partners and wholesale agents of the Toronto Star. Alberta ran the financial end of this very successful business.
Alberta had a true connection and love for cats – and cats loved Alberta. She fed and helped hundreds of strays over the years, including Inky who lived to be 22. Her grand-kitten Jax loves and misses her very much.
Being an avid sports fan, Alberta enjoyed watching many sporting events including baseball, hockey and tennis. There was always a game on when you visited their home.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Thomson and the doctors and nurses from SBGHC who provided excellent care during Alberta’s time there.
Following Alberta’s wishes, a private service was held at the Pine River United Church with spring interment in the Kincardine Cemetery. Donations to the Pine River United Church, Kincardine Hospital Foundation or Shriners Hospitals for Children Canada are greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
Arrangements entrusted to the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home in Ripley. Condolences may be made online at www.mackenzieandmccreath.com.

ELVA MOTZ

It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the peaceful passing of our beloved family matriarch, Elva Delphine Motz (née Stellar), on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024.
Elva was deeply cherished and will be forever remembered by her husband of 69 years, Walter Motz.
Her comforting words and unwavering patience will be profoundly missed by her daughters: Debbie Briggs (Chris) and Bonnie Dahm (Dan), along with her son-in-law Fred Kreller.
A constant presence in the family, her absence creates a void for her six grandchildren: Lisa Lowry (Brad), Melanie Zegers (Phillip), Tammy Kreller (Curtis), Bobbi-Jo Adams (John), Jimmy Shaw (Krystina) and Brad Briggs (Amber). Additionally, her legacy lives on through her 15 great-grandchildren: Vahnessa (Blake), Kristen, Zackary (Rae-Lynn), Kaitlyn, Cheyan, Olivia, Emily, Dylan, Olivia, Hannah, Kendyl, Callie, Adele, Gabrielle and Charlee, along with her three great-great-grandchildren: Ramsey, Hudson and Maverick; as well as her fur-baby Patches, who will all feel her absence.
Patiently waiting in heaven with their arms wide open are her daughter Patricia Kreller, great-grandson Nolan, her parents John and Lorene Stellar, and her parents-in-law, Michael and Helen Motz. Sitting handsome and waiting for her smiles and snuggles are her precious pups, Brutus and Buffy.
Elva was raised in Kitchener-Waterloo and called it home until her retirement from the University of Waterloo. After 24 years of vacationing in Point Clark, she and Wally relocated there in 1991, and would spend the next 33 wonderful years of her life embracing the beautiful community and cherishing the simple joys of life.
Family was at the heart of her life. She adored spending time with her daughters and their families, and her home was always a welcoming space for gatherings and creating lasting memories. Elva enjoyed her spontaneous trips to Port Huron, Frankenmuth, Mackinaw, and occasionally all the way to Florida for a few magical days at Walt Disney World.
Her bond with animals was extraordinary. She loved to stop for a quick visit with any horse she encountered, and we will remember her warm smiles and pure love for every furry friend who entered her life.
Elva’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful medical team at South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Kincardine, as well as to her family doctor, Dr. Gurbin, and pharmacists Mike and Natalie McKechnie, who have made extra efforts to ensure her health and comfort over the years.
To honour Elva’s life, her family welcomed relatives and friends, at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, in Kincardine, on Dec. 6, 2024. A special thank you to Elva’s service officiant, Emily Vandonk, for her lifelong dedication to our family.
