The Kincardine U15B girls team is having a successful season this year. With some girls playing with other surrounding centres in previous years, they decided to come home, play with their friends and hope to have a competitive year. (By Joel Armstrong)

Twenty-two-year-old Brooke Thomas is still glowing from her and her teammates’ successful showing at the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games held in Calgary last month. On her own, she skated her way to the top of the podium in the free skate competition,

Ripley Huron Skating Club member Brooke Thomas skated away with gold at the 2024 Special Olympic Winter Games held in Calgary in February. The 22-year-old skater is a member of Team Ontario, who also brought home numerous medals. Brooke has been skating since the age of four and is the daughter of Leigh-Anne and Ian Thomas. She is currently coached by Brenda Hill-McIntosh and Brooke Leppington. Brooke was previously coached by Nicole Handy-Richardson.

The Kincardine Kinucks U11 B Girls team is having a great season. The girls won gold at the Brock Junior Badgers Tournament in November and placed first at the London Devilettes Tournament in February Recently, they won playoffs to secure a spot in Provincials this April. The team is currently in League playoffs, having won three games so far and tied one, with two more games to go.
